The economy has taken its toll on more than just people

The number of horses going homeless, being neglected, and being treated inhumanely was increasing before the downturn of the economy and statistics show that their plight is growing worse. It has hit especially hard in Ireland, where citizens are talking about declaring a state of emergency and making pleas to the government to intervene and assist in managing the situation. It appears that over 700 horses are currently victims of abandonment in North America. In one situation, over 200 horses are in need of new homes and are being given away because their owner passed away. In another situation a rescue facility caring for over 200 animals went into bankruptcy. The list goes on. If you want to help with the situation, and don’t know what to do, or how you can make a difference, consider attending Horse Aid Live. By participating in the festivities you can help to raise money and increase awareness.

There are many people out there that are coming to the horses’ rescue. We see it unfold daily through the web and news media. If you are feeling left out of this great endeavor, Horse Aid Live is your chance to join in and help. Go to Horse Aid Live and participate in the camaraderie, and help one of our most beautiful species to survive with dignity, respect, and love.... You too can make a difference.
